ABSTRACT

"WHAT YOU SEE WHEN YOU SEE ME ...” Selection of profile images of people with physical disabilities in social networks. The emergence of social networks, particularly Facebook, has generated new forms of subjectivity from the ability to share units of meaning and belonging as well as identify certain identity traits. On the other hand how to link networks that offer these modes also define subjective, while continuation or replacement of other forms of social bond.

We are interested in, then explore how this platform is used as a device for building narrative utterances of life stories through the sequences and aesthetic profile images, generating forms of subjectivity within the social imaginary in the who enroll.

According to the guidelines of the Research Project "Mediations on Screen", which is part of our work, we believe that crucial shared experiences would talk about certain configured on the interaction of pleople with physical disabilities with the screens. This objective will study how the body on the screen through a strategic rhetoric that constructs a virtual-identity, and through the narratives of pleople with physical disabilities.
