Abstract

A film called Almodóvar. Pedro Almodovar is a director and screenwriter who have built from his memories, through parody and irony, filmography style able to transgress and counter dominant discourses of public opinion, to interpellate viewers. Through the issues as maternity / paternity by a woman or a woman / man, sexuality since the breakup of the hegemonic established as male / female.

From a corpus of European films of this director, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, High Heels, Kika, Talk to Her and Volver, we analyze the performance of mass popular culture from kitsch and from it, its relation to gender issues.
